23.07.2008 Greg Haynes: GSoC: Kobby Week 8
There has been a lot of development work this past week with Kobby. After posting about some design issues I was attempting to clear up before diving into code, infinote) pointed out that the term ’session’ in infinote is used to describe the editing ’session’ of a single document, unlike in Kate where it is used to describe a set of documents. Instead of deciding whether confuse either users or developers, I came up with a new naming scheme for the control dialogs which might actually better represent the actions being performed. After getting the control dialogs wor...
29.04.2008 Holger Freyther (zecke): Looking back at Guademy
I have attended WebKit and the Qt integration, produced some Qt 4.4. While preparing the slides I was in a constant wow mode. It is incredible what the Trolls added to Qt 4.4. It was probably a bit too much but it highlights what a team of excellent programmers can achieve when they focus on a common goal. Qt developers keep on rocking! It was nice to catch up with some of my fellow KDE developers, see some GNOME developers, talk with local developers. I think events like the Guadec are really helpful, not only you can catch up with developers from your village, but also to see people from othe...

10.11.2015 Amarok is slowly catching up
I was previously working on Macaw-Movies (already in the KDE Community) and, after a while, I felt really alone and wasn’t so sure if a movie organizer still made sense in this all-connected time, where you can stream whatever you are interested in. I finally went to the Amarok guys, cloned the source and began to help to port it to the Frameworks. The plan Aroonav (roguedragon) did his GSoC on this topic . And I catch up at the end of August. What is the plan? In theory it was this: Remove all KDELibs from the dependencies Port the CMakeLists.txt Get to 100% of build Start the prog...
24.10.2016 Kdenlive packages available for testing
Getting the correct dependencies and up to date version of required libraries has always been a challenge for Kdenlive users. So we are pleased to announce that we now provide binary packages for download. These packages contain the latest Kdenlive development version (git master), as well as current development versions of MLT, Frei0r, OpenCV. The GPU movit library is not included at this stage. There might be some performance hit due to the nature of the formats, but these packages will be most helpful to debug and test the alpha/beta versions so that we can provide better releases. It w...
