VMworld 2010 Online Sessions

Now that VMworld 2010 has concluded, it's time to digest and consume sessions that were offered.  If you attended VMworld 2010 in either San Francisco or Copenhagen, you have been granted full access.  If you were not an attendee, you will need a VMworld 2010 Subscription.  However, VMworld 2010 General Sessions + Super Sessions AND all content from previous VMworld conferences is free to all visitors.

All Super Sessions and Breakout Sessions that were captured from VMworld 2010 in San Francisco have been posted.  Selected Breatkout Sessions and Tech Exchange Sessions from Copenhagen have also been posted.  General Sessions from both events are posted in a series of recordings.

Along with these recordings, all "available" PDF slides, MP3s and demo files are posted as downloads in the theater right sidebar under "Related Resources" within each session.  Lab slides are posted from San Francisco as well, but no video/audio was captured.

As you enter the virtual theater, be sure to take advantage of the live interaction available with other visitors who are signed in.  You will notice avatars below the theater that can walk from the theater to other areas of the Virtual Pavilion.  You can network with other members using the live chat or click on their avatar for profile information and options to connect or "friend" each other.

05.10.2010 Kevin Ottens (ervin): Agile in Developers Sprints: Scrum? Kanban? Scruban-ish!
This post is the second one out of two covering my thoughts about the Solid Developers Sprint 2010 which happened this week-end. My outbound flight being delayed, I’ve plenty of time for introspection in the Madrid airport. Disclaimer: This blog post evolved as a short essay on "Agility in a Free Software Developers Sprint Context". It is then a somewhat long read (I don’t blog often but when I do…). If you are NOT interested in at least one of the following topics: How the Free Software community works; The practices used in the agile project management communit...
25.05.2010 Myriam Schweingruber (Mamarok): Seventeen…
.. is the total number of countries where the Multimedia/Edu sprint participants in Randa are from. You read that right: seventeen! We had developers from Austria, Brazil, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Holland (the Netherlands), Italy, Norway, Peru, Poland, Scotland (yeah, I know…), Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and the USA. Impressive, isn’t it? So sad I had to leave this afternoon already, but here are a few highlights of the weekend: we had a very talented chef who spent his holiday to prepare our yummy meals, very productive sessions in the various rooms of the huge ...
27.04.2008 Jos Poortvliet: Valencia
So, it's time for a blog. I'm in Valencia (Spain) right now, lying in the grass, enjoying the last rays of sunshine. This was good food...Last night, we went out for food and after quite a walk (more than an hour in total) we got to the most insane restaurant you've ever seen. As my Brittish roommate said - the total randomness of that place is disturbing. It started with the peanuts... A guy game with a bucket of peanuts, throwing them on the table with a large spoon. We were kind'a surprised, but they just got started. The dishes were also thrown careless on the table, and you had to use a mu...
04.07.2009 Aaron Seigo (aseigo): Plasma in KDE 4.4
Each release of Plasma over the 18 months since its debut release has marked an impressive step forward in its evolution. We are planning on making 4.4, our second anniversary release coming in January 2010, more of the same in that regard. We recently had our Plasma release cycle planning meeting, and here is our list of goals for central Plasma technologies in 4.4 (in no particular order):Improve kiosk based lock down and deployment management: We are communicating with some large deployments in Europe about the process of migrating from KDE 3 to KDE 4 and how we can make KDE 4's desktop she...

Ubuntu Online Summit starts today with talks and sessions on all matter of stuff related to Ubuntu.
23.01.2010 Aaron Seigo (aseigo): key quest: webkit
The list of "Key Quests for 2010" was alphabetical. It was a sensible ordering and it prevented me from having to prioritize them in some linear fashion that could never be definitive anyways: all the points are important, though often in different ways, for different reasons and even with different key audiences. So, alphabetical ordering it was! This meant that WebKit was going to be the last topic, and now here we are. (Honestly, I'm glad I'll be able to get back to more "stream of consciousness, spur of the moment" blogging! :)The topic of WebKit is not the easiest one. It's had its share ...
24.01.2010 Lim Yuen Hoe (moofang): The Web, the Desktop, and the Google between
I haven’t written a proper tech article since before I (re-)started this blog, so I thought it was high time. Besides, I’ve been wanting to write this post ever since I read some articles on Google’s Chrome OS, around the time right after my old blog vaporized. So there’s a couple of buzzwords to hopefully sucker you into clicking the ‘more’ button and actually reading the article – It’s about Google’s upcoming Chrome OS and it’s implications for the web, the desktop and the browser, as well as why desktop evolution can take an altern...
20.08.2018 Notes on the Akademy 2018
This year I attended to my fourth Akademy, the annual KDE summit.  The conference is always a good place to meet old and new KDE people. This year we had a lot of new faces showing up there, which is very good because new people might mean new ideas coming, more hands to work on KDE projects, and more mouths to spread our message From Brazil we had three new contributors attending for the first time, Lays, Caio and Eliakin, from a total of eight Brazilians who participated this year. I think we can count with Tomaz and Helio although they are living in Germany Brazilian group at Akademy...
07.02.2009 Harald Sitter (apachelogger): I am disappearing
Due to new employment (Zivildienst) I'll be unable to continue my work on the various projects I am a proud contributor of. Well, until mid-October at least.I'll most likely not be able to follow mailing lists, nor will I be online on IRC when I am not really available. If you want to reach me, you better drop me a mail personally... the inbox is pretty much everything I kind of read. Should you be lucky enough to actually get a hold of me: don't expect me to do or say anything useful :PBy 2010 I should be able to attend conventions and fairs again, so you can worship me live and in action ;-)...
11.08.2010 Torsten Rahn (tackat): Visual Changelog: Marble 0.10.0
Marble 0.10 was released on August 10th, 2010. It is part of the KDE 4.5 Software Compilation. In the good tradition of recent years, we have collected those changes directly visible to the user. Unfortunately we were a bit late with our visual changelog for the release. So please enjoy looking over the new and noteworthy: Online Routing Do you want to plan a bicycle tour in the nearby wood? Need driving instructions to get to an address in a foreign city? Besides searching for places, Marble can now display possible routes between two or more of them. And the best thing is: The routes are dr...
